1. Cold Desert BSR, H.P.

·         In rain shadow zone of Himalayas.

·         Pin Valley National Park, Chandra Tal, Sarchu, Kibber WLS.

·         Vegetation: Juniper etc.

·         Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear.

2. Nanda Devi BSR, U.K.

·         > 3500 m, between 6000 – 7500 m, Ramani Glacier

·         Alpine, mosses, Lichen.

·         Fir, Birch, Rhododendron, Juniper

·         Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear

3. Kanchanjunga (Kangchenjunga), Sikkim

·         >8500 m

·         Tamur River (west), Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La (north), Teesta River (east)

·         Alpine vegetation

·         Temperate broad leaf e.g. oak etc.

4. Manas BSR, Assam

·         In Himalayan foothills.

·         Semi evergreen, moist and dry deciduous, savanna grassland.

·         Pygmy Hog, Golden Langur (Endemic), Wild water buffalo.

5. Dibru – Saikowa, Assam
