A career in architecture is creative and has a lot of potential in terms of development. BArch course from any of the recognized colleges in India is of 5-year duration and comprises of ten semesters. The students are required to individually check the admission process of each institute as there is no common counselling procedure for admission. A candidate can get admission in BArch courses by applying for JEE Main or NATA.

In order to be eligible for the same, a candidate should have

• Completed their 10^th and 12^th examination, with English and Mathematics as mandatory subjects and should have scored above 50% marks in the examination.
• A 10th completion certificate along with a 3 year diploma.

Average fee for the course in government colleges ranges from INR 2-3 Lacs while in private colleges, it ranges from INR 3-5 Lacs. 1. Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Baroda

The Faculty of Technology and Engineering is one among the fourteen faculty bodies in the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. The institute was established in the year 1890. It has seventeen departments, including Architecture. This institute offers BArch at a very low fee structure. The total fee amounts to INR 7,500.

2. Jadavpur University, Kolkata

The Jadavpur University is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Established in the year 1955, it is recognized as a university with potential and excellence by UGC. It offers multiple courses in various fields such as Science, Arts, Engineering and Technology. It has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC. The fee structure comes to a total of INR 13, 625.

3. Gitam, Vishakhapatnam

The Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management was first established in Visakhapatnam in the year 1980 and later branched out to Hyderabad and Bangalore. It became the first private institute in Andhra Pradesh to be recognized as a deemed university. It offers BArch courses for a total of INR 11.3 lakhs for the five year program.

4. Academy of Architecture, Mumbai

The academy of architecture was established in the year 1955. It is a government aided institute in Maharashtra to conduct a diploma course in Architecture. The entire course is offered for a total sum of INR 20,000.

5. Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam

Andhra University is a public university located in Visakhapatnam. It was established in 1926 under the Madras University Act. The college of engineering alone offers a variety of 80 courses. The university has a fee structure of INR 44,000 for a five year, full time course in Architecture.

6. Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai

Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy School of Art is considered to be the oldest art institute in Mumbai. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The fee for the five year BArch program totals to a sum of INR 47,740.

7. Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh

The Chandigarh College of Architecture specializes in research and education in the field of architecture. The college has a yearly enrollment of 200 students. It was established in the year 1961 to impart education in architecture. The college has a fee structure of INR 48,585 for the five year course.
