Though we are aware that lives and livelihood of millions if not billions in many parts of the world is influenced by ice caps.Its time we seriously ponder about the fact just how hot can the ice get that our mere sustenence gets affected?The futures of hundreds of millions of people across the world will be affected by the declines in snow covered sea ice,glaciers,permafrost and lake ice.Based on today’s population a one metre sea level rise would without adaptation measures, expose 45 million people to flooding with Asia particularly low lying Bangladesh being the most affected.Other areas of concern include many small islands and population living in the mega deltas of Ganges-Brahmaputra, the Mekong and the Nile in Africa.The geographical widespread is so alarming that if Nile delta can be affected so can any far flung area.
