UNDERSTANDING URBAN POVERTY

As urban areas are sprawling more in comparison to rural areas, similarly urban poverty issues are also gaining momentum in development sector. There is seen a change in outlook towards the urban poor and their contribution towards building the city. Hence referred as ‘city makers’ by a Delhi based NGO named IGSSS working with the mandate for a humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity.

In order to understand urban poverty a two day event was being organized by IGSSS. The objective of the workshop was to understand the existing initiatives of IGSSS and those of other organization working in the urban domain as well as to understand the existing legal framework applicable for various categories of urban poor in India so as to explore programmatic opportunities for IGSSS. The discussions contributed towards broadening IGSSS’ urban poverty programme.

गूगल ने एक ऐसा स्मार्टफ़ोन तैयार किया है जो यूज़र के आस-पास का 3डी मैप तैयार कर सकता है। स्मार्टफ़ोन में विशेष तौर से इसी काम के लिए बने हार्डवेयर और सॉफ्टवेयर का इस्तेमाल किया गया है।

Certain income which is treated as Agriculture Income
  • Income from sale of replanted trees.
  • Rent received for agricultural land.
  • Income from growing flowers and creepers.
  • Share of profit of a partner from a firm engaged in agricultural operations.
  • Interest on capital received by a partner from a firm engaged in agricultural operations.
  • Income derived from sale of seeds.

Certain income which is not treated as Agricultural Income

  • Income from poultery farming.
  • Income from bee hiving.
  • Income from sale of  spontaneously grown trees.
  • Income from dairy farming.
  • Purchase of standing crop.
  • Dividend paid by a company out of its agriculture income.
  • Income of salt produced by flooding the land with sea water.
  • Royalty income from mines.
  • Income from butter and cheese making.
  • Receipts from TV serial shooting in farm house is not agriculture income.
